My Husband, Joe, and I have just recently moved into Woodstock Village. We are so pleased with our new home. We moved from the 3200 sq. ft. home in East Cobb where we raised our family. We felt we needed another type of place for our retirement years but never expected to find anything we loved as well as that house. We have been in not quite a week and still have many boxes to unpack but really love being here already. We feel it is a really well built house and have found few problems so far.

From a homeowner’s prospective, Smith Douglas Builders has two people within it that I feel help to make it successful. When my realtor brought me to Woodstock Village, the first person I met was Elaine, your agent, at Woodstock Village. She was welcoming and informative about the property. As we were building the house, if I had concerns about colors being what we picked out, she would go down to the house to personally check it out. She never made me feel my concerns were a problem or inconvenience. I am also extremely impressed with your supervisor, Josh. I believe his knowledge of home construction, attention to detail, and willingness to address problems and attend to them quickly is a great contribution to the success of any project he supervises. I hope you are aware of the valuable assets you have in these two people.

We began our search for a new home late in 2013. After much thought, we decided that the Cherokee County area would be a great place to live. We looked at older homes for a while and then began looking at new construction. We spent much time visiting home sites of various builders, examining their work. We also visited a Smith Douglas site. After a while, we determined that Smith Douglas Homes were well built and more affordable than all of the other builders. We talked with a rep at one Smith Douglas site and she informed us about a new subdivision that Smith Douglas was about to begin work on in Canton, GA. Once building started there, we made a trip to check it out. It was then that we met Kelley Boatwright at Cherokee Reserve. She was very knowledgeable and helpful. She explained how everything worked, talked about different options, and was more than willing to work with us to find the home that we were looking for. When we finally decided on a house plan that we liked, the one house that had already been built came under contract before we could make a move. Kelley immediately started working on a new plan for us and did an excellent job of making our dream come true. Kelley became a friend to us!

Our builder was Jeremy Howard. He was on the ball from the first moment and came through with everything that was promised. He met our desired completion date (actually ahead of time) and made everything easy. On our walkthrough, he did a great job of listening to our needs and requests, and thoroughly explained everything to us. As it happened, he was to be on vacation shortly after the walkthrough and was very concerned about not being there to make sure everything was done properly (although he had an assistant that would handle everything properly). He was back from vacation for our final walkthrough and everything was great. He has been helpful and available whenever needed. Jeremy is a very dedicated, hard worker who cared deeply about doing his job-going above and beyond what is required.

After we moved in, we had a couple of items that needed to be handled, and they were taken care of quickly and efficiently by Smith Douglas Warranties My most recent interaction has been with Steve Call. He came out to discuss our experience and to take care of a few items. He is also a trustworthy and dedicated worker and believes in treating people with respect.

Smith Douglas is a great company and I would gladly refer anyone to them. As a matter-of-fact, I have had the opportunity to meet several prospective buyers and have heartily recommended Smith Douglas.

I didn’t have any prior experience in home buying, and the only community that always stood out was Cornerstone Estates. Every time I passed by, I always say to my girlfriend we have to stop. One day I decided to stop in and take a look at the model home, fell in love with the floor plan, and wanted to take a look at the other model homes. When I first met Kelly and Ruth they were so helpful in showing me other model homes, and explaining to me different types of programs that could be helpful to me. The first home that we had chosen was sold before I had a chance to decide to buy, so I wanted to give up and just wait a couple months before searching again. I received a phone call from Kelly letting me know that she had a better deal for me; I was so excited to take a look at a different model that I hadn’t seen. I would like to Kelly referred us to a very helpful lender who helped us through the entire loan process. The model and spacious rooms was what I always wanted and had been looking for. Kelly and I were in constant communication regarding updates on our new home, signing documents, choosing carpet, cabinet color, and granite, and they kept me in close communication with our builder during the closing. Thanks to Kelly Boatwright and Ruth Jenny we not only found but we were able to purchase our dream house with spacious rooms, great bathrooms, and large kitchen. My wife and I were very pleased with the new home we purchased. The floor plans are great. The builder has several plans to fit any size family. We chose a plan that fit our needs for our family. In these economic times we were not pressured into buying our home. The home was almost ready to move except for some minor details and the countertop.
