At Smith Douglas Homes, we love giving back to the community. As part of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association, we were recently able to participate in a volunteer day with HomeAid Atlanta. HomeAid Atlanta is the designated charity of the Greater Atlanta HBA, and we had a wonderful time volunteering and providing much-needed assistance to this inspiring organization. Read on to learn more about HomeAid Atlanta and Solomon’s Temple, the organization that we were assisting.
HomeAid Atlana is a nonprofit organization that has been building and renovating transitional housing facilities for homeless service agencies in Atlanta since 2001. HomeAid Atlanta partners with these agencies to build homes and restore lives through community outreach. They are able to make a great impact on the homeless population in Atlanta by partnering with members of the homebuilding industry and accepting donations of building materials and construction services.
HomeAid Atlanta is the designated charity of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association, and we were very excited to offer our time and resources to help this amazing organization. The volunteer day we participated in helped a local organization: Solomon’s Temple
About Solomon’s Temple
Solomon’s Temple is a transitional housing program for single mothers with children experiencing displacement. Solomon’s Temple is dedicated to the eradication of homelessness by empowering affected families to overcome life’s challenges, realize their potential, define their own destiny and become vital factors in the revitalization and sustainability of their community.
How You Can Help
While we loved getting our hands dirty to help support HomeAid Atlanta and their efforts to support Solomon’s Temple, there are other ways to get involved too. If you’re interested in supporting this organization in their quest to eradicate homelessness in Atlanta, consider making a donation directly to the organization. HomeAid Atlanta relies on donations from generous local individuals and businesses to continue in their mission to build transitional housing for those who need it most. Check out the HomeAid Atlanta website and contact them directly for more information on upcoming events and how you can help.
